Usually known for talking smack, Rice University’s Marching Owl Band is apparently also well versed in talking turkey — if its Thanksgiving Day performance in the 59th Annual H-E-B Holiday Parade is any indication. The parade started at downtown Houston’s Minute Maid Park, where the MOB kicked off the event cold turkey with a two-minute “Salute to Hollywood,” which included appearances by Marilyn Monroe, Indiana Jones and Darth Vader. Rice’s scatter band then led the parade through 20 downtown blocks. If you missed the action the first time, don’t fret: You can still catch it on TV. Just click on the link below for broadcast times — then watch the MOB add yet another feather to its cap.
