The news these days is full of stories about shortages of rice. But in Houston, Texas, there is no Rice shortage. In fact, Rice University offers plenty of top-quality education for the price and has been ranked a best value among private colleges and universities by both the Princeton Review and Kiplinger’s Personal Finance magazine. The Princeton Review ranked Rice the No. 1 best value among private colleges in its 2008 edition of “America’s Best-Value Colleges” and Kiplinger’s Personal Finance ranked Rice No. 5 on a similar list in its April 2008 issue. In addition, Rice has eliminated loan requirements for students from families with incomes under $60,000 — doubling the previous no-loan threshold – and no student is required to take on more than $14,500 in loans over four years. In today’s world, a college education is critical to success and Rice is an investment that is well worth the cost.
