Who knew you could find inner beauty in a bottle?

Bottle artHumans have been trying to find beauty in a bottle for centuries, and New York artist Aurora Robson has finally succeeded. Her Rice Gallery installation, “The Great Indoors,” offers the inside scoop on humankind’s “internal wilderness,” with membrane-like, translucent tunnels and a colorful cellular landscape made of 15,000 recycled plastic bottles. The exhibit boasts sculptures named after the body or diseases — one diaphanous sculpture is called “Grey Matter,” while others bear names like “Cootie,” “Hair Lip” and “Smooch.” Robson hopes the exhibit will get audiences thinking about environments — both inside and out — and “conjure up some inspiring ideas for people.”
