What’s the difference between a duck? That’s the question Rice University undergrads Jordan Myska Allen and Nick Hambley want you to ponder — along with several others designed to spark existential thought and meaningful conversation. In an effort to engage their peers with thought-provoking questions, Allen and Hambley developed the Big Talk Project and its corresponding online home, www.betweenaduck.com. The site asks a new question each month, posts written and video responses from eight writers with different backgrounds and social networks, and encourages readers to add their two cents via an online forum. Recent questions have included “What is God?”, “What happens when we die?” and “What is the most important lesson to teach our children?” No doubt about it, Allen and Hambley have given the campus something to quack about.
