Dalai Lama Security Statement

Please plan to arrive early as the following security precautions will be in place:

• Members of the Rice University community will be required to present their university identification card for access. You also may be required to pass through a metal detector and/or submit to a hand wand search.
  
  
• Guests from outside the Rice community will be required to present a valid driver’s license, state issued identification card or passport to gain admittance. You will be required to pass through a metal detector and/or submit to a hand wand search.
  
  
• Please do not bring backpacks, large purses, briefcases or other packages as there will be no place to store and secure them. If you arrive with a prohibited item, you will be turned away.
  
  
• No recording devices of any kind will be permitted in the venue. This includes cameras, video recorders or audio recording devices. If you arrive with one of these items, you will be turned away.
  
  
• Cell phones will be permitted as long as they are not used for photographic purposes.  You will be asked to leave the event if you use your cell phone to take photographs or record the lecture.
